ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta Methodist Church announces Mission Multiplication, a comprehensive strategic initiative designed to transition the church from an "adding" mindset to a "multiplying" one, with the goal of achieving exponential Kingdom impact throughout Alpharetta and beyond.
Rooted in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, Mission Multiplication focuses on equipping and empowering disciples to make disciples wherever they go. The initiative builds upon the church's strong foundation as a healthy, growing congregation that has seen steady increases in attendance and giving since its transition from the United Methodist Church.
"This isn't about changing what's working—it's about faithfully stewarding the foundation God has blessed us with and boldly asking, 'What world-changing work is next?" said a church representative. "We're moving from a focus on the addition of people to our church to pursue exponential Kingdom impact that happens everywhere."
Key Components of Mission Multiplication
Spiritual Momentum: Church-wide small group study "Practicing the Way" by John Mark Comer to align the congregation around whole-life discipleship
Strategic Alignment: Partnership with PlainJoe Studios to evaluate the church's name, story, and campus spaces to remove barriers and better communicate the church's mission
Missional Strategy: Comprehensive evaluation of resources and spending to maximize Kingdom impact and align with multiplication goals
Implementation Timeline
The Mission Multiplication process begins in November 2025 with research and information gathering. Initial recommendations for name and story will be reviewed in January 2026, with Church Council voting in February 2026. A comprehensive facilities master plan will be presented in April 2026. All recommendations will include opportunities for congregational input and feedback.
