REDMOND, WA — Doxa Church announces Doxa Kids, a comprehensive children's ministry program designed to partner with parents in raising integrated disciples of Jesus. The program features six age-specific classrooms serving children from infants through fifth grade, each with tailored learning goals that progress developmentally from hearing God's Word to sharing it with others.
"We want the Eastside to look more like heaven, and that includes our kids," said a church representative. "Doxa Kids partners with parents in three primary environments: home, community, and on Sunday mornings. We believe that kids and students are disciples too, and we equip them to live for Jesus in the everyday."
Six Age-Specific Learning Environments
Hedgehogs (Age 1): HEAR — Infants will hear the Word of God read and prayed over them
Squirrels (Ages 2-3): SAY — Toddlers learn to say the Word of God by repeating scripture shared in class
Owls (Ages 4-5): LEARN — Preschoolers learn the Word of God by listening and engaging with Bible stories
Foxes (Kindergarten-1st Grade): MEMORIZE — Early school-age kids memorize the Word of God, focusing on key verses
Bears (2nd-3rd Grade): APPLY — Children apply the Word of God to their lives through questions and answers
Moose (4th-5th Grade): SHARE — Oldest elementary kids learn to share the Word of God where they live, learn, and play
Gospel-Centered Curriculum
Doxa Kids utilizes LifeWay's Gospel Project curriculum, which teaches the story of God by diving into the Bible. Each week focuses on a Bible story with its main point, a big picture question and answer, and a key memory passage. Families receive weekly resources to continue the learning at home, reinforcing the church's commitment to partnering with parents in discipleship.
Safety and Convenience
Doxa Kids uses a secure check-in system through Planning Center that provides matching safety codes for parents and children. Check-in opens 15 minutes before services and closes 20 minutes after services begin. New families can pre-register online or arrive a few minutes early for assistance from the Doxa Family team.
Parents are invited to pick up their children during the reflection time of the Sunday gathering to worship together as a family. Doxa Church holds services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM each Sunday.
