GatherGrounds Resorts has successfully acquired The Oaks Campground, a sprawling 155-acre outdoor haven situated in the heart of southern Michigan. This acquisition marks an exhilarating new phase for the campground, with a variety of enhancements and upgrades anticipated under the new management.
The Oaks Campground boasts a prime location adjacent to the Waterloo State Recreation Area, which is the largest state park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. This proximity offers guests direct access to vast natural landscapes and a wealth of outdoor activities. Additionally, the campground is conveniently located just eight minutes from the public boat ramp at Portage Lake, a favored all-sports lake perfect for boating and various water pursuits.
Next to the campground lies the Haehnle Bird Sanctuary, which is home to an impressive array of bird species often spotted throughout the campground, creating a distinctive and immersive nature experience for visitors.
With GatherGrounds Resorts at the helm, numerous improvement initiatives and additions are on the horizon, including the revitalization of roughly 120 acres of forested riding and recreation trails. These trails will cater to mountain biking, golf carts, horseback riding, and hiking, allowing guests multiple avenues to discover the property's picturesque landscape.
Anticipated upgrades also encompass renovations to the swimming lake beach, which will feature the addition of lounge chairs and a sand volleyball court.
