In Latest Annual Frost RadarTM Report for SD-WAN Infrastructure, Versa Outscores Eight Top Vendors to Lead Growth & Innovation Index

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(BUSINESS WIRE)

Versa, the global leader in unified security and networking, today announced that Frost & Sullivan, the technology consulting and research firm, has recognized Versa as the global SD-WAN industry leader in its latest annual report analyzing market trends and comparing the top vendors. In the new Frost RadarTM for SD-WAN Infrastructure 2025 report, Versa ranked highest on Frost & Sullivan’s Innovation Index and Growth Index among the nine SD-WAN companies evaluated, ahead of Cisco, Citrix, Ericsson, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, Nuage Networks (Nokia), Palo Alto Networks, and VeloCloud/Arista.

Frost & Sullivan wrote, “Versa’s integrated platform architecture, where all networking and security functions operate in a single software stack with multitenancy, is a distinctive advantage in the SD-WAN and SASE landscape,” citing a clear shift in market need toward platform-based models that integrate networking, security, and cloud services under unified architectures.

Agile Innovation

The report observed that over the past five years the SD-WAN industry has experienced a wave of acquisition activity that has seen traditional networking vendors acquiring innovative capabilities developed by startups. In contrast, the report emphasized that “Versa maintains its leadership position through focused innovation and a differentiated software-centric approach.”

Momentum to Continue Leadership

The report authors also stated that they view Versa’s unified approach as a strategic differentiator, enabling simplified policy management and providing consolidated visibility for not only network operations centers but also security operations centers.

They underscored their belief that Versa’s platform-based approach will enable the company to maintain its leadership in the SD-WAN market. To support its continued market growth, the report highlighted Versa’s relationships with more than 1,000 partners and 180 deployed communication service providers, including seven of the world’s top 10, along with a reference base of thousands of enterprise deployments globally.

Beyond SD-WAN to SASE

In its Global Network Services Survey published in early 2025, Frost & Sullivan found that 39% of organizations identified SD-WAN as the most critical component in their SASE deployments. At the time, 42% of organizations had implemented or were deploying their first SD-WAN project, with an additional 28% planning to adopt the technology within the next two years. In comparison, only 27% of respondents said they had deployed or were in the process of deploying SASE. The firm’s analysts concluded that although SASE is gaining traction, SD-WAN remains a foundational step for many organizations moving toward integrated networking and security architectures.

How Vendors Were Rated

Frost’s Growth Index and Innovation Index are each composed of a broad set of evaluation criteria and serve as the axes for plotting each vendor on the annual Frost RadarTM chart. The report explains Frost’s Growth Index (GI) is a measure of a company’s growth performance and track record, along with its ability to develop and execute a fully aligned growth strategy and vision; a robust growth pipeline system; and effective market, competitor, and end-user focused sales and marketing strategies.

The Innovation Index (II) is described as a measure of a company’s ability to develop products, services, and solutions that are globally applicable, can evolve and expand to serve multiple markets, and are aligned to customers’ changing needs.

“We are proud to be recognized as the industry leader in secure SD-WAN by Frost & Sullivan,” said Dan Maier, Versa’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This reinforces what our customers see every day: a unified, AI-driven platform that brings networking and security together, simplifies operations, and helps organizations scale SD-WAN and SASE with confidence. While others are stitching together acquisitions and separately developed products, Versa offers a fully integrated, software-centric platform that delivers security and networking without compromise.”
